For the third consecutive year, CyberGuru is again proud to be supporter of Privacy Awareness Week from 4-10 May. This year’s theme, Reboot your Privacy, is an important reminder especially as we move even more of our day-to-day online activity during the COVID-19.
Protecting your personal information online is increasingly important as even more of our day-to-day activity takes place in the digital environment: from work, study and socialising to shopping online or using connected devices like home assistants.
The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner has provided ten areas in which how you to need to reboot your information and keep your information safe. Some tips provided have included:
- Check and update your privacy controls
- Consider the alternative when giving or asking for personal information
- Delete any data from old devices and securely destroy or deidentify personal information if it’s no longer needed for a legal purpose.
