Minnis & Samson opened its metal fabrication and polishing factory in Brisbane in 1914. Minnis & Samson continues to be a leader in metal fabrication, bringing together innovative design with high quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. Minnis & Samson were referred to us by another client in 2017. 

THE CHALLENGE

Having been in business for over a century, Minnis & Samson needed a digital transformation to power the team in the next chapter of the company.  

Minnis & Samson wanted to achieve the following from the transformation: 

  • A secure and reliable environment for the team 
  • Streamline the existing environment  
  • Put in place a roadmap for future upgrades and projects 
  • To minimise downtime and ensure protection of the data 
  • Improve productivity and security 
  • Enhance the customer experience 
  • Migrate email and data to the cloud to enable users to work remotely. 

THE SOLUTION

The digital transformation included several parts: 

  • Migration of data from an on-premise file server to SharePoint 
  • Transition from Google Workspace and server to Microsoft 365 to centralise data in the one location 
  • Provision of a regular computer maintenance program and ongoing proactive management 
  • Website redesign to better reflect the vision of Minnis & Samson going forward as well as ongoing maintenance and management to secure and protect the website.

Over the past seven years, Minnis & Samson has reported the following benefits:

The transformation also simplified the move to a new premises in 2018, as the move to the cloud meant that no servers had to be moved.
