It has been many years in the making, however Australia’s broadband network, the National Broadband Network (nbn) has arrived and available across most of Australia. Given that the nbn is replacing existing fixed phone and internet services, it is important to understand that these existing services are switched off 18 months after the nbn is made available in your area.
In the coming months, many of the areas across Brisbane will be disconnected. This will come sooner than later as internet service providers may pause the installation of nbn from mid-December to mid-January. Over the past few months, there has increased demand on nbn installations and services especially for those working from home. It is likely this increase will continue as others may binge on television, gaming and other online services over Christmas.
Moving to the nbn is not automatic process, so we strongly recommend reviewing your options as soon as possible. CyberGuru is a member of the business nbn ICT Channel Program and is a business nbn accredited adviser. We are able to support your organisation to make the move to the nbn. There are various considerations to be made including decisions surrounding your phone, internet, network and associated services so should not be taken lightly.
Some of the suburbs being cut-off include parts of Aspley, Bowen Hills, Carseldine, Chermside, Chermside West, Everton Park, Ferny Hills, Fitzgibbon, Fortitude Valley, Kedron, Mitchelton, Northgate, Nundah, Virginia and Wavell Heights, however to check your specific address please visit the nbn website.
