Last week, CyberGuru attended the Microsoft Office 365 Summit in Sydney. Amongst the informative sessions tailored towards both technical and business-oriented audiences, the biggest announcement was that Microsoft’s flagship cloud-based products, Microsoft Office 365 and Dynamics CRM Online are now locally hosted in Australia through existing New South Wales and Victorian data centres.
According to Pip Marlow, Managing Director, Microsoft Australia, “the new, local services will provide even faster performance, offer geo-redundant back-up and help customers address data residency considerations, particularly in sectors such as healthcare, education, government and financial services” (please see full Press Release – link opens in new window).
For clients already with existing Microsoft Office 365 or Dynamics CRM Online subscriptions, Microsoft is scheduling the moves from September 2015. However, new clients can subscribe now to take advantage of the cloud services in Australia.
With the growing roll out of the National Broadband Network across client locations across Brisbane, CyberGuru is well equipped to help prepare clients with the opportunity to take advantage of cloud-based services such as Microsoft Office 365.
